How to Export Kraken Ledgers & Trades 2026 - Tax-Wizard

This guide is for Kraken users who need to calculate and declare taxes on their cryptocurrency activity. Tax-Wizard only supports CSV-based imports.

Files you need

Unlike other platforms, Tax-Wizard needs two files from Kraken to correctly reconstruct your activity:

• - Ledgers (Ledger format): deposits, withdrawals, staking, rewards, forced conversions, etc.
• - Trades (Trades format): your detailed buy/sell orders, including crypto-to-crypto pairs that get reconstructed as SWAPs.

Upload both in the Kraken section of the Tax-Wizard dashboard.

How to download the Ledgers file

• 1. Sign in to your Kraken account.
• 2. Select Settings from the top-right corner.
• 3. Select Documents.
• 4. Click Create export.
• 5. Select the Ledger format.
• 6. Select a date range that covers your entire transaction history on Kraken.
• 7. Choose .CSV and click Generate.
• 8. Click Submit.
• 9. Once ready, download the generated CSV file.

How to download the Trades file

• 1. From the same Settings > Documents section, click Create export.
• 2. Select the Trades format.
• 3. Select the same date range you used for the Ledgers file.
• 4. Choose .CSV and click Generate.
• 5. Click Submit.
• 6. Once ready, download the generated CSV file.

Following these steps ensures you have both files ready to upload to Tax-Wizard and have your tax report ready in minutes.
